Every day...ish I go for a run along the Danube Canal. Its nice because its unimpeded by any stop lights or many people, I can always measure how far I run by the number of bridges I pass, and its thoroughly interesting mostly because of all the graffiti along the walls. There are some very impressive graffiti artists here. Any given afternoon you can spot a couple doing their work.

Yesterday I just decided to walk along the canal to photograph some of it. I ended up talking to a German graffiti artist, Jan, who said he had been doing graffiti since 1994 and has since become a professional graphic designer. Basically, now he said he is a family man only doing graffiti as a creative outlet and no longer doing it in illegal places as well as far less seriously. On this day he was doing a bubble piece of his daughters name Amelie for her first birthday basically entirely freestyle. It was cool to see him working.
Amelie. I'm going to go back and get a photo now that he's completed it.

He didn't want his picture taken, but I took this before I started talking to him.

The most impressive pieces are by this artist named Nychos who is notorious in Europe its seems after just doing a quick google search. He has what he calls his Rabbit Eye Movement so there are a lot of rabbits all over the place in sort of Ren and Stimpy-esque style. I don't know much about graffiti, but since my roommate Mark follows some blogs about it I've started to pay attention a little more.

Some vile creatures for your afternoon walk.
